Quality over Quantity

Former Jefferson Pilot, Chubb Life CIO moves to sales side of consulting firm.

Having gone from big-company CIO to big-name consultant service provider, Warren Reynolds says he now promotes a "quality-versus-quantity" consulting approach as executive vice president of sales for ITS (Insurance Technology Services, Dallas) Life & Health consulting.

The goal of big-name consultants, contends Reynolds, is "to put in your lead person and surround that lead person with many junior people, for which you bill your clients. We have no interest in that." ITS Life and Health Consulting aims to differentiate itself by providing a "trusted advisor" service to senior executives at insurance companies in the planning, deployment and utilizing of their internal resources, while employing a minimum number of consultants, he says. "We're in there to work with a company to help them understand who they are, where they want to go, and then help them to get there."

Reynolds' career has included more than 20 years' duty as CIO of life & health insurance companies, such as Chubb Life (Warren, NJ) and Jefferson Pilot (Greensboro, NC), and as a consultant at Cyberlife/CSC (Austin, TX). "I believe the years I've spent in the industry have prepared me quite well to both connect with my customers and provide the 'trusted advisor' service" that ITS Life & Health Consulting emphasizes, Reynolds says.
