Fiserv Insurance Solutions (Brookfield, Wis.) and Scene Genesis (Rochester, N.Y.) will integrate their claims solutions -- Fiserv's Claims Workstation system and Scene Genesis' Scene Access and SceneConnect -- to streamline P&C claims settlements. "One of the challenges with property loss is reducing the friction with the adjusting process and the complications that arise during the claim investigation," explains Frank Heaps, Fiserv's product manager for P&C enterprise solutions. "This solution will automatically send out claims assignments to outside vendors, and help adjusters and carriers track claims from start to finish."

The joint solution enables Claims Workstation users to tap Scene Access to assign an independent adjuster to claims and provide adjusters with electronic estimate auditing and appointment-scheduling tools. It also allows adjusters to upload estimates and digital photos. Built on a service-oriented architecture, SceneConnect enables data to flow from the Fiserv application as a feed to populate the claims appraisal process, Scene Genesis says.
