Roundup: Losses from April U.S. Storms
Below, the preliminary estimates of some U.S. P&C carriers of their losses following the April outbreak of tornadoes. The Insurance Information Institute says about 700,000 claims have been filed so far.
Allstate: $1.4 billion
Cincinnati Financial: $150 million to $200 million
State Auto: $75 million to $85 million
Unitrin: $65 million to $75 million
Selective: $25 million
Risk modelers' estimates of total losses:
AIR Worldwide: $3.7 billion to $5.5 billion
EQECAT: $2 billion to $5 billion
RMS: up to $6 billion
