Royal Neighbors Picks Two StoneRiver Systems

The carrier's goal was to automate some manual underwriting processes.

Royal Neighbors of America, a Rock Island, Ill.-based life insurance, annuities and Medicare supplement provider, has selected the Life Portraits ES e-Application and LifeSuite automated underwriting systems from Oakland, Calif.-based StoneRiver.

"This is an integrated solution which meets our strategic goals of moving from a manual driven process to electronic new business," Royal Neighbor IT director Curt Zeck says in a statement.

Royal Neighbors will be able to integrate underwriting; improve time from application to issue; enhance communications with agents, brokers and carriers; and provide better customer service, the companies claim. Its goal was to automate processes that had been done manually.

“Prior to this project, Royal Neighbor’s underwriting had been a labor-intensive process, and an automated underwriting system with a rules engine was needed to improve the underwriting and new business processes,” Dennis Pfiffner, StoneRiver VP of product services – insurance solutions, adds. “LifeSuite allows Royal Neighbors to build rules over time. It offers flexibility that suits their requirements.”
