RSA Secures Transactions
RSA Security has unveiled two new authenticators for enhancing the security of online transactions between agent and carrier, including the submission of electronic signatures. "These tools allow carriers to streamline transactions and manage security risks in a way that is easy for both the agent and the carrier," claims John Worrall, senior vice president of marketing for Bedford, Mass.-based RSA Security.
The RSA SecureID Toolbar Token delivers an authentication option in a browser toolbar format. Agents simply navigate to a carrier's Web site and enter the token code -- which is generated randomly every few seconds -- that appears in the toolbar to access the agent portal.
The application is compatible with the Microsoft (Redmond, Wash.) Internet Explorer browser and the Mozilla Firefox open-source browser, and can be affixed to existing toolbars for ease of use. "This unique tool allows a carrier to place a token on a toolbar, ensuring an easy way for the agent to get access to process transactions on a portal," explains Worrall.
RSA's SecureID SID900 Transaction Signing Token enables agents to submit electronic signatures for online transactions. The credit card-size device includes a PIN pad with which the user can enter the transaction value and a one-time pass code. To complete the transaction, the user must submit the same code online as a signature verification. --M.W.
