Security First Insurance Launches All-Inclusive Homeowners Insurance iPhone App

Security First Insurance launches all-inclusive homeowners insurance iPhone app; Florida-based insurer introduces app to streamline the claims process, in time for 2012 hurricane season.

Ormond Beach, Fla.-based Security First Insurance will introduce on Friday, June 1 -- the first day of the 2012 hurricane season -- what it says is the nation's first all-inclusive iPhone app designed to streamline the homeowners insurance claim process and provide Floridians with access to hurricane preparedness tools they can use to protect their homes.

The "Security First - Mobile" app, which is free, simplifies the claim process by providing customers with instant claim capabilities, thanks to the app's fully integrated customer database. According to Security First Insurance, users can upload photos of property damage and submit their insurance claims in minutes directly from their iPhones. Upon submitting their claims, customers will immediately receive contact information for the adjuster assigned to their claim and be able to monitor the claim status.

The app's "Storm Center" feature can be used by both customers and non-customers. It includes an interactive hurricane preparedness checklist and hurricane storm tracking integrated with Red Cross emergency shelter locations and evacuation routes. The Storm Center also includes hurricane facts and links to emergency and disaster response resources.

"This app gives all Florida homeowners tools to help prepare for this hurricane season. For our customers, it provides a very simple and fast claim process -- whether the power is on or not," said Locke Burt, chairman and president of Security First Insurance Co., in a press release. "We are a Florida company and know the devastation a hurricane can leave behind, so we’ve made sure the app has features that will be helpful to everyone."

Security First - Mobile also provides location and driving directions for Security First Insurance’s mobile recovery unit. Deployed in the event of a catastrophe, the 57-foot, air-conditioned unit is equipped with a complete network of computers that empower Security First Insurance employees to issue emergency living expenses on-the-spot and help policyholders file claims.

Because the app is fully integrated with Security First Insurance policyholder data, users can also review policy information, make payments and enroll in paperless billing. Security First Insurance also provides a 24-hour call center and online policyholder service center at SecurityFirstFlorida.com, to assist customers with filing claims.
