CSC Offers Enterprise Data Loss Prevention Service

CSC has introduced a data loss prevention (DLP) service to identify, monitor and proactively protect confidential data, wherever that data may be stored or used throughout the enterprise. The vendor descries the new offering as an "integrated part" of its Protected Enterprise portfolio of security solutions that reduces the risk of data loss, along with the associated reputational hazards, and supports compliance mandates.

CSC's DPL solution utilizes Symantec technology within a service that provides clients with a comprehensive, flexible and customizable service, the vendor claims. The solution includes centrally managed DLP capabilities and prevents sensitive data from leaving a client's network through e-mail or Web services; it also blocks the coping of such data to USB devices, CD/DVDs and local drives, and also prevents it from being electronically printed or faxed, the vendor claims.
