Selective Picks Progressive Exec for New CIO
Branchville, N.J.-based Selective Insurance Group has appointed Ronald St. Clair EVP and CIO, replacing Richard Connell, who retired April 1.
St. Clair had been leading the leading the Enterprise Resource Organization at Progressive Insurance. Before that, he was director of technology at Jo-Ann Stores. At Progressive, his responsibilities included the carrier's website, driving speed-to-market for commercial products and developing an agent portal.
"We are very excited to have Ron on the executive leadership team at Selective," Selective chairman, president and CEO Gregory E. Murphy says in a statement. "He brings extensive information technology experience to Selective that will surely spark innovation and further our mission to be the 'high-tech, high-touch' provider of property and casualty insurance."
Connell was named one of Insurance & Technology's Elite 8 in 2010.
