In response to insurer demand for solutions that can leverage several components on a common platform, Sherwood International (Armonk, NY) and Document Sciences Corp. (Carlsbad, CA) have formed a partnership. As a result of the deal, Sherwood's Amarta and FrontTier insurance administration technology will be combined with Document Sciences' Xpression, which creates and delivers policies, proposals and correspondences. Integration of the solution, which will be marketed to both life and P&C insurers, is already in effect.
The end-to-end policy production solution is the result of strategic goals that are shared by the vendors, reports Liza Smith, director global partner marketing, Sherwood International. "Document Sciences has an exceptional reputation in the industry as a leader in content management," says Smith. "Their Xpression product content processing technology ties well with Sherwood's technology framework with open standards such as J2EE and XML, which allow for limited efforts to integrate."
Steve Hoffman, alliance manager, Document Sciences, agrees that the combination of the two vendor products makes "imminent good sense. By leveraging our two companies' combined solutions, customers can realize benefits in their content-intensive workflows," says Hoffman. "They can fulfill clients' document needs from front-office client acquisition, all the way to back-office fulfillment."
