Stone River Debuts Insurance Integration Platform

The StoneRiver IIP enables new business, operational and technical opportunities for carriers by providing easier business process automation, integration, and a rich user interface framework, according to the vendor.

StoneRiver (Oakland, Calif.) has announced the availability of its Insurance Integration Platform (IIP), which the vendor describes as the foundation of its recently introduced component-based StoneRiver Stream P&C insurance policy administration offering. The integrated Stream applications constitute an enterprise solution build on the service-oriented StoneRiver IIP, which embeds a full service bus, according to Stone River.

"While the focus of the Stream solution is on solving business problems, the technical platform supports a carrier's quest to become leaner, faster and smarter," comments Gary Sherne, President of StoneRiver " Insurance Solutions Gary Sherne. "The enterprise service bus is roughly parallel to a symphony conductor orchestrating various instruments with a common musical score. The service bus orchestrates underlying services in composite business processes that can be reconfigured, so true plug-and-play capability is possible."

The StoneRiver IIP enables new business, operational and technical opportunities for carriers by providing easier business process automation, integration, and a rich user interface framework; the platform allows the Stream solution and component applications to scale for business expansion so carriers can remain lean during periods of growth, according to the vendor.

Adaptable for all lines of business, the StoneRiver Stream solution set and its components focus on solving business problems by providing rich business functionality in addition to including tools such as a business rules engine and workflow management, the vendor asserts. The solution's underlying service-oriented architecture provides what StoneRiver characterizes an ideal base for delivering state-of-the-art, strategic core operational solutions.
