The Hartford Names Robert Ingram P&C CIO
Former Safeco and USAA executive Robert Ingram has been named senior vice president and CIO of The Hartford's P&C operations IT organization. Ingram will report to enterprise CIO Brian O'Connell.
Ingram is charged with managing overall IT strategy for the carrier's P&C operations as well as working to accelerate its enterprise IT agenda driven by O'Connell, according to a press release. O'Connell, who was appointed CIO of Hartford Life in Fall 2007, was named The Hartford's first enterprise-wide CIO in fall 2008.
"Our IT operations play a critical role in the success of our business and how we deliver value to our customers and agents in the marketplace," O'Connell says. "With Bob's deep experience in the P&C industry, as well as his ability to manage large and sophisticated IT systems, we are excited to focus on making IT efficient, effective and easy for our businesses and for our people."
Ingram most recently served as executive vice president and CIO at Safeco. During his career, Ingram has led a number of strategic technology projects focused on cost rationalization, legacy system consolidation, and strategic partnerships. He previously served as CIO at USAA and spent 12 years at Accenture.
