Think Your CIO is the Best? I&T Elite 8 Nominations Open

Tell us why your CIO, line of business head, or other executive deserves to be recognized as one of the best in the insurance technology industry.

As unlikely as it may have seemed a couple weeks ago, spring is around the corner — which means it's time for us at I&T to reach out to our readership community and collect nominations for our annual Elite 8 awards.

This is the 16th year that I&T will recognize insurance company technologists — whether they be CIOs or line of business leaders — that have demonstrate a history of delivering innovative initiatives that have added value to the insurance business overall.

I have been with the brand for a quarter of these awards (my fourth year at I&T begins in June) and it is one of my favorite projects. Taking a deep dive into what makes the top CIOs tick helps me — and I'm sure many others — understand that insurance doesn't have to bow to its reputation for stodginess and frustrating inertia. Forward-thinking leaders both inside and outside IT departments are taking insurance companies in new and exciting directions as the industry adjusts to an ever more digital world.

This year's honorees will be recognized in our November digital issue, as well as at our Executive Summit, slated for November 9-11 at the St. Regis Bal Harbour resort in southern Florida. Be on the lookout for more information on that event.

Click here to nominate a deserving executive today. Nominations close on June 26. And check out last year's digital issue featuring the 2013 honorees:

  • Suren Gupta, Allstate
  • Robin Arendt, XL Group
  • Michael Healy, AXA Equitable
  • Peter Moreau, Amica
  • Mark Caron, Capital Blue Cross
  • Manish Bhatt, MetLife
  • Judy Haddad, Patriot National
  • Piyush Singh, Great American

[Budgets and technology specifications are only part of an technology leader's responsibilities. Managing an IT workforce might be the most challenging aspect of any executive's job. Attend the Humans Aren’t Computers: Effective Management Strategies for IT Leaders session at Interop 2014 in Las Vegas, March 31-April 4 to learn new management techniques.
