Travelers Introduces Mobile Version of e-CARMA Risk Management Information Application

On display at this weeks' RIMS conference, the mobile e-CARMA platform will be accessible on any mobile device with a Web browser, including the iPhone and BlackBerry smartphones.

Travelers (Hartford) has introduced a mobile version of its e-CARMA risk management information system application. Developed by Travelers National Accounts and Risk Management Information Services (RMIS), the mobile e-CARMA platform will be accessible on any mobile device with a Web browser, including the iPhone and BlackBerry smartphones, according to a Travelers news release. The insurer is demonstrating the mobile application at the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) conference in Boston this week.

"Risk management professionals are more mobile than ever, visiting manufacturing facilities, regional offices and job sites around the world, helping their companies mitigate and manage their risk," said Matthew Carden, Vice President, RMIS at Travelers. "The mobile e-CARMA platform will allow risk managers to get away from their desks and laptop computers without sacrificing their access to important, mission-critical data. Soon, risk management professionals will be able to see summarized information, detailed reports and individual claim files from the field on their handheld device."

Travelers describes e-CARMA as the visual front-end to the carrier's suite of RMIS products, which has always allowed customers to report claims instantly, access documentation anywhere in the claim process and review key information, such as adjuster's case notes. The Travelers release says that e-CARMA is an easy-to-use system that offers a robust set of tools including customizable dashboards with intuitive navigation that significantly enhances the users' analytic capabilities. e-CARMA also offers built-in Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) reporting and recordkeeping, as well as providing links to risk control resources, according to the Travelers news release, which notes that more than 15,000 customers and their agent or broker account teams who use e-CARMA to manage their organization's total cost of risk.
