Unisys Exec Sees Opportunity
Marc Zimmerman says that since his days at Case Western University Law School, he has always sought to leverage his training as an attorney into practical business opportunities. That focus brought him to Unisys (Blue Bell, PA) toward the end of 1999, where he is now vice president and general manager of its North American financial services insurance business. "I think we're at the precipice of considerable change in the financial services market, and particularly in the insurance vertical," he says. "The opportunity to lead a major corporation in its growth in this space is a unique and exciting one."
Zimmerman was most recently senior vice president of mergers and alliances at SS&C Technologies (Windsor, CT), where his primary responsibility was to drive the company's core software solutions up market to many of North America's largest insurance and asset management firms. Zimmerman has also held senior positions at such firms as Micro Insurance Software (Aurora, CO) and Princeton, NJ-based Princeton Financial (Princeton Financial, which he and partners acquired in 1989, is now part of State Street).
"I'm very excited about the role that Unisys is playing in helping insurers achieve critical business objectives in today's very competitive and demanding market environment," Zimmerman says.
