United Automobile Insurance Deploys Claims System, Selects Billing System
Miami-based United Automobile Insurance Company (UAIC) has successfully deployed Guidewire's (San Mateo, Calif.) ClaimCenter as its new claims management system, the vendor announced today in a press release.
The full implementation, the vendor says, consolidated or replaced multiple claims handling systems. The effort also included data conversion for all markets. UAIC initially deployed ClaimCenter in February 2009 to 12 markets across two lines of business.
"With ClaimCenter, we gained a much more proficient, flexible and usable system improving the claims handling," Abraham Estevez, chief information officer, UAIC, said in the release. "Claims data is now collected in a more normalized manner; improved reporting capability and best practice enforcement (as needed) using business rules and automated workflows, has resulted in better decision-making."
In addition, UAIC has decided to implement Guidewire BillingCenter. The carrier expects that the new SOA/Java-based billing system will enable it to improve operation efficiency through the use of automated business rules, better respond to customer service inquiries, reduce commission statement turnaround and billing cycle times and provide more integration flexibility with internal and external systems, according to the release.
