UPMC Health Plan Partners with WebMD

Pittsburgh-based health insurer UPMC Health Plan is offering WebMD (New York) Digital Health Assistants to its members via its member web portal.
The digital health assistants are virtual health coaching programs that used information such as quality measures and the average cost for a medical procedure. It is designed to complement existing UPMC Health Plan initiatives such as personal health records, telephonic and work site health coaching and incentivized wellness programs, as well as mobile tools that are in the pipeline.
"WebMD's innovative services, including virtual health coaching, further enhance our members' experience and access to quality healthcare information," says Diane Holder, President and CEO of UPMC Health Plan, in a statement. "Integrating WebMD services directly into our insurance plan designs, UPMC Health Plan brings good health home and streamlines the delivery of health information to our members."
