Vision Solutions Launches Data Recovery Technology
Vision Solutions, an Irvine, Calif.-based provider of high availability and disaster recovery solutions in the IBM Power Systems market, has unveiled RecoverNow, a data recovery and continuous data protection solution. RecoverNow is targeted towards organizations looking to shift to a recovery point objectives (RPO) strategy over one that relies only on back-up tapes, according to a press release.
The new solution features continuous data protection (CDP) capabilities that allow an organization to recover damaged or deleted data at any point in time. In addition, Vision Solutions says users will be able to recover just one or many files, objects or libraries.
"RecoverNow provides much faster, flexible recovery options for the small to mid-market IBM System i customer," Alan Arnold, chief technology officer and executive vice president of Vision Solutions, said in the release. "With RecoverNow, you can perform common or emergency recovery operations more effectively than with tape and provide unique flexibility to recover data at virtually any point in time."
Recover Now fits into numerous existing infrastructures, the vendor says, because it can use storage available on multiple platforms, including Windows, Linux, IBM i, AIX and other UNIX versions. The solution also supports SAN or NAS environments as a target.
