XL Hires New Head of Strategic Analytics
Reflecting the insurance industry's intensifying focus on leveraging the potential of analytics technology, Kimberly Holmes has joined XL Group plc (Hamilton, Bermuda) as SVP of Strategic Analytics. She will be responsible for expanding XL's use of risk analytics throughout the entire company. Working with all units of XL, including actuarial, risk management, underwriting, management information and information technology, she is tasked with developing new ways of thinking about risk analysis, and delivering appropriate tools to ensure maximum impact of new initiatives for XL's clients.
Prior to joining XL, Holmes was SVP and Chief Actuary of Endurance Risk Solutions, where she created innovative analytics to improve decision making, developed casualty risk management tools and focused on ways to use analytics to drive strategy. She is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries where she serves on the Emerging Risks Committee. Holmes will report to Greg Hendrick, head of XL's Office of Strategic Growth.
Commenting in a press release on Holmes' appointment, XL Group CEO Mike McGavick said: "The rate of change and innovation occurring across the entire spectrum of society demands that a company like XL utilize the highest level of analytics and information to solve problems for our clients. Kim will be integral to our expanding use of best-in-class modeling across the entire company."
