USAA Selects Honk For Social Initiative

The San Francisco-based company will allow USAA customers to read and write vehicle reviews when using the carrier's car buying service.

USAA, the San Antonio, Tex.-based provider of insurance and other financial services to current and former U.S. military members, has reached a licensing agreement with San Francisco-based Honk to use the latter's platform for vehicle reviews with its car buying service.

USAA founded its online car buying service in May 2007. Customers will be able to see and share their opinions about various car models, searching vehicle reviews by other customers, and receiving vehicle recommendations based on Honk’s opinion database.

“Honk’s social platform appeals to our members' affinity for technology and tools that deliver practical insight and inform their decision making,” Bob Otis, assistant vice president, integrated solutions for USAA, says in a statement.
