Anthem Blue Cross Promotes COO to President

Mark Morgan has been appointed president of Anthem Blue Cross, the trade name of Blue Cross of California and independent licensee of the Blue Cross Association.

Morgan takes on this role with two decades of experience in the insurance industry. He last was Anthem Blue Cross COO, and also has held senior leadership positions at Health Net, managing strategic profit and loss responsibility in every stop.

His experience in various market segments has prepared him for this new role, the company says. As president, Morgan will supervise the management of Anthem’s commercial and business initiatives in California. He plans to expand the company’s efforts in improving health care access and affordability throughout the state. According to a release, Morgan intends to add “hundreds of thousands” more customers in coming months.
