Sapiens International (Research Triangle Park, NC) released Policy INSIGHT, the first of its INSIGHT suite of insurance solutions. Policy INSIGHT is a Web-enabled policy administration platform for commercial and personal lines for multiple states, which allows carriers to automate new business and policy lifecycle processing by connecting to producers through the Internet, reports Sapiens. The solution supports product development and configuration, rate-quote-issue, underwriting and policy life cycle transactions. Policy INSIGHT leverages the vendor's business rules technology and IBM's WebSphere platform, and its architecture is structured to provide IT departments an evolutionary path to drive down total cost of ownership by replacing redundant systems and minimizing maintenance costs, according to the vendor.

SEMCI -- Connective Technologies

Connective Technologies (Houston) released Site Integrator, a component that integrates a carrier's existing Web site into Connective's TEAM-UP workflow. The integration is language- and Web site platform-independent and has been successfully deployed utilizing Windows 2000, Unix and OS/400, the vendor says. Web sites written in JSP, ASP and .NET have been successfully integrated into the TEAM-UP solution process, Connective adds. Benefits of Site Integrator include faster project lifecycle implementation, as well as the ability to utilize edits and expert underwriting already developed in the carrier Web pages, resulting in reduction in time and development costs. As a tool in the TEAM-UP solution, Site Integrator eliminates the "black box" process that inhibits real-time agent interaction, according to the vendor.
