CIGNA Launches Interactive Online Site
CIGNA University, CIGNA's (Philadelphia) educational arm, introduced an interactive online program that combines narratives, music and a game, with the intention of making it easier and more fun to access and absorb healthcare information. CIGNA University intends for the site to educate and engage people to make more confident healthcare decisions for themselves and their families.
The new e-learning series is available through Facebook and iTunes. The program has been rolled out to coincide with the healthcare plan enrollment period for millions of people across the country. According to CIGNA, only about one in 10 people say they feel confident in their understanding of their healthcare coverage. The series hopes to increase this understanding and boost confidence. The interactive program includes a health education game that encourages people to learn about health. For every three questions a player correctly answers, CIGNA will make a donation to Water For People, a nonprofit international organization that funds safe drinking water and sanitation projects in developing countries.
People can access the courses directly from CIGNA's itstimetofeelbetter.com Web site, download the courses from the CIGNA Facebook page, or download and watch the courses through iTunes. The educational programs also are available to employers for distribution to their employees.
