Zurich Names McKinsey Vet Head of Predictive Analytics
Zurich North America has appointed Peter Hahn as head of Predictive Analytics. Hahn is responsible for creating analytic capabilities that will help Zurich gain risk insight and better its business performance.
Hahn comes from McKinsey & Company, Inc., where he managed the underwriting service line for its North America practice. He also assisted P&C carriers in using analytic techniques to improve their underwriting, risk assessment and pricing decisions.

“One of the cornerstones of Zurich’s strategy is to create a competitive advantage through distinctive risk insights for risk selection and pricing that promotes profitable growth and helps our customers better understand and protect themselves from risk,” says Mary Merkel, chief underwriting officer at Zurich North America, in a statement.
Zurich is investing to build its Predictive Analytics Center of Excellence as a means to deliver on this initiative, Merkel explains, and Peter’s appointment is a key step in its investment.
