Former StoneRiver CEO Takes Post at Sapiens

Software solutions provider Sapiens International Corporation has announced the appointment of Gary Sherne as EVP and managing director of its P&C/General Insurance and Reinsurance Division. He will drive the sector’s product and services business.

Sherne joins Sapiens with extensive experience in financial services, insurance technology, mergers and acquisitions, and international management. He served as president and CEO of StoneRiver, Inc., where he led the strategy and management of its P&C and Life carrier markets until October 2012; since then, he'd been working as a consultant.

Sherne also held the positions of president at FiServ Insurance Solutions, president and CEO of InsureWorx, and vice president and general manager of CSC and TRW Financial Services.

Yoel Amir, who served as IDIT CEO since 2005 and led the P&C insurance division since its merger with Sapiens, will leave his position to pursue opportunities outside Sapiens.
