Former Trizetto Exec Named SVP at Humana

Health insurer Humana, Inc. has announced the appointment of Chris Hunter as SVP and chief strategy officer. He will lead the company in strategic planning processes, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate projects.

Hunter brings health industry experience from both the private and public sectors to Humana. He most recently served as the president of provider markets at Denver-based health information technology firm TriZetto. Hunter also worked as senior vice president of emerging markets at BlueCross Blue Shield of Tennessee and president and CEO of Onlife Health, the national health and wellness subsidiary of BlueCross BlueShield.

“Chris is going to be a powerful asset for Humana as we continue our push to put the customer at the front and center of an integrated care model that improves health outcomes,” said Bruce Broussard, Humana president and CEO.
