Joan Zerkovich of ICAT Manages Increased Project Activity
An it leader's work is never done. ICAT CIO Joan Zerkovich says that although there have been no major changes in her job role or responsibilities over the past year, the level of IT project activity in 2007 has increased substantially since last year.
"Probably the biggest change for ICAT is that the state of Florida Citizen's Insurance Company has contracted with ICAT to handle all of its small commercial risks through our Web-based technology to perform all the policy administration functions for their book of business," Zerkovich relates. "And that's a large undertaking."
In the coming year, Zerkovich believes that capacity planning will be her key areas of focus. "The applications themselves that are needed to provide policy administration, claims -- all of the traditional insurance functions -- are in place," the Elite 8 2006 honoree explains. "It's now a matter of building out the systems and focusing on capacity planning -- capacity planning for the network, servers, disaster recovery, monitoring, etc."
Zerkovich says she hopes to get back to a more normal routine in 2008. "But we do have a large push going on from now until the end of the year," she says.
