NAVA Names Mark Casady Chairman of the Board
Reston, Va.-based NAVA, The Association for Insured Retirement Solutions, has elected Mark Casady as the chairman of its Board of Directors.
Casady, who is chairman and CEO of LPL Financial Services, replaces Clifford Jack, executive vice president, chief distribution officer of Jackson National Life, who will remain on the NAVA board until the conclusion of his three-year term in late 2009.
NAVA also named James Shepherdson, AXA Equitable, vice chair. In addition, NAVA has elected Robert Arena, Hartford Life, Inc., (Hartford) and Christopher Grady, Genworth Financial (Richmond, Va.), to the NAVA board. The new chairman, vice chairman and board members were officially ratified by the NAVA membership at NAVA's 2008 Annual Meeting, in Philadelphia, PA.
Each year, the NAVA Executive Committee proposes new board members for consideration for a three-year term, and a new chairman for a one-year term. With this year's election, NAVA expanded its board from 19 to 21 members. Each member represents a specific area of the NAVA membership, including insurers, annuity distributors, money managers and service providers.
