Phoenix Companies Appoints EVP and CRO

The Phoenix Companies, Inc., has announced the appointment of Mark Griffin as EVP and CRO. He will provide leadership and direction for the company’s risk management strategy.

Griffin joins Phoenix from Mass Mutual Financial, where he led financial planning and analysis. He previously served as chief investment officer and CRO for Genworth Financial, chief risk manager for GE Insurance and held senior roles at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

“Mark will help Phoenix enhance our current enterprise risk structure and lead this strategic function to support the business going forward,” says Phoenix president and CEO James D. Wehr. “I am excited to add someone with Mark’s extensive experience and capability to our senior management team.”
