Rebus iS To Incorporate .NET

With hopes of allowing its existing client base to rapidly react to insurance industry regulatory changes, as well as have the ability to introduce new products as their market demands, London-based Rebus iS, provider of the Genius general lines underwriting solution, is forming a partnership with Redmond, WA-based Microsoft. As a result of the deal, Rebus iS will incorporate Microsoft .NETtechnologies into its general lines underwriting solution.

"Working closely with Microsoft on the .NET platform will allow Rebus iS to deliver a flexible Web services-based underwriting solution," says Robert Gogel, CEO, Rebus iS. "The advantages of .NET far outstrip the alternative technology platforms available today." According to Gogel, Microsoft's Visual Studio.NET enables developers to be productive with all elements of the development cycle within a single integrated development environment.

Such an environment, says Peter Rist, partner manager, Microsoft, increases productivity and provides Rebus iS with a unique way of integrating applications and providing services over the Internet.
