Remstad Will Head Northwestern Mutual’s Actuarial Department
Dave Remstad will become Northwestern Mutual's (Milwaukee) vice president and chief actuary on November 1. Remstad will assume leadership of the actuarial department from Bill Koenig, senior vice president and chief actuary, who has headed the department for nearly 20 years.
Remstad currently serves as Northwestern Mutual's vice president " specialty markets. He joined the firm in its actuarial department in 1985 after three years with Banker's Life and casualty in Chicago. He will become the 11th chief actuary in the financial security company's 151-year history. In this role, Remstad will direct the department's staff of 120 people in developing and pricing products, recommending dividend actions and establishing sound policy reserves.
When Koenig steps down from his current position, he will become the financial security company's senior vice president " government relations actuary. In this role, he will continue to support Edward Zore, the firm's president and CEO, on key projects within the industry.
