Rick Roy Named CIO of CUNA Mutual

Rick Roy has been named chief information officer of Madison, Wis.-based CUNA Mutual, provider of financial services to credit unions and their members.

Roy had served as CUNA Mutual's CIO from 2003-2005, where he directed technology strategy, application software development, information security, and technology infrastructure. Rick was recognized as an Insurance & Technology 2006 Elite 8 honoree, for his vision, leadership, effective resource management and ability to help CUNA Mutual compete and consistently meet strategic objectives. In 2005, he was named senior vice president of customer operations where he directed all customer service and operations functions including claims, call centers, and customer implementations and training through CUNA Mutual's operations centers in Madison, Wisconsin; Waverly, Iowa; and Fort Worth, Texas.

One of Roy's primary charges in his role as CIO will be strengthening CUNA Mutual's ecommerce capabilities. He will continue to work closely with the customer operations area, although he will not be leading the organization.

Tom Gosnell, who had been CUNA Mutual's CIO since assuming the role in 2005, is leaving the company to pursue other career opportunities.
