Torus Insurance Will Use Solution from EQUCAT

Technical lines insurer Torus Insurance (London), which specializes in large, complex risks with particular focus on the energy sector, has licensed EQUCAT's (Oakland, Calif.) Gulf of Mexico Offshore Energy Model (OEM) for portfolio risk management and underwriting.

EQUCAT is a subsidiary of ABSG Consulting Inc., (Houston), developer of analysis tools and consulting services to quantify exposure to natural and man-made catastrophe risk. The EQECAT OEM was launched in May 2007 and is based on rigorous science, engineering research, and robust mathematical methodologies.
