Vincent Cohan Named AXA Tech SVP, CTO

One of three new senior vice president appointments by AXA, Vincent Cohan will be responsible for defining and implementing AXA Tech's information systems.

Vincent Cohan has been named senior vice president and chief technology officer of AXA Technology Services (AXA Tech, Paris), Paris-based AXA Group's central technology infrastructure organization. Cohan will report to Etienne Aubourg, AXA Tech's president and CEO.

Cohan joined AXA in Dec. 2008 and is responsible for defining and implementing AXA Tech's information systems. Before joining AXA, Mr. Cohan spent 11 years with The Thomson Corporation, where he was most recently responsible for IT Operations in the Americas, India and Thailand, according to an AXA Equitable source. Cohan will be based in Jersey City, N.J.

Cohan's appointment coincided with two other senior vice president announcements by AXA Equitable (New York) at the end of last week. David Kahal was promoted to senior vice president of AXA Equitable and national sales manager of AXA Distributors, LLC, the carrier's proprietary life insurance and annuity wholesale distribution organization. Kahal will report to Marian Sole, senior vice president, AXA Equitable, and will be responsible for heading the wholesale distribution, sales and business development of proprietary life insurance products to the company's retail network of approximately 6,000 financial professionals across the United States.

Suzanne van Staveren was named senior vice president of AXA Equitable's Corporate Markets division, which provides retirement plan strategies and solutions to Fortune 1000 companies and their employees. She joined AXA in Jan. 2008 as chief operating officer for Corporate Markets and is responsible for creating and executing the group's overall business strategy.
