XL Group Names President of North America Property Insurance

XL Group has announced the promotion of Michele Sansone to president of its North America Property insurance division, effective immediately. She will also lead its global risk engineering sector, XL GAPS.

In her new role, Sansone will manage the property underwriting activities at XL Group, including its General Property and Energy Property business across the US, Canada and Bermuda. She will also direct the insurer’s global network of risk engineers who support clients’ property loss prevention initiatives and perform on-site property risk analysis.

Sansone joined XL Group in 2011. She most recently served as its chief underwriting officer for North America Property and SVP and eastern regional executive, through which she managed property underwriting, risk engineering operations and broker relationships for clients from Miami, FL through Maine. Prior to her time at XL Group, Sansone held the position of SVP and northeast regional manager at Zurich NA.
